SHERKIN ISLAND
Sherkin Island Marine Station off the coast of County Cork promotes all matters relating to the environment.. This year we entered one of their competitions entitled "What the Environment means to Me" We chose "The River Feale "as our theme. This beautiful salmon fishing river river flows near our school. We decided to examine a tract of the Feale over a distance of 15 kilometres and concentrated on this section . Gerard Nash arrived with some stunning photgraphs and we went on from there. All class members were involved in voice overs and the class musicians played the musical score . We finalised the project with our movie editing software and forwarded it to Sherkin Island.
Mr. Michael Creed M.C.C. presented "The Sherkin Island Awards" at The Carrigaline Court Hotel, Cork City in what was a great day out.
